Chea! First race was a huggee success! Always fun riding the Spokane course in the All Gravity Series! We got to practise Friday morning and I was shocked: the Tr 450 was amazing! So easy to get comfortable with quick are super easy to ride! Thank you very much Favorit Cycles for being the radest shop ever and hookin me up!
So the first day race i ended up 4th in Junior Expert, less then a second off the top of the podium. And i came 10th out of the 176 riders in the race. Second day I pulled off a 3rd place, once again less then a second off the top step and in 11th overall! Huge success for the first race of the year! It was awesome to be riding with the guys again! See ya guys at the next race!

Run Run Run
Time to get in shape! First race is at the end of march in Spokane. Went for a 9.5 km run today with fellow team XC rider Jason De Rijk. He kept me at a really good pace and we did the loop in just under a hour. Check out the stats! http://connect.garmin.com/activity/141169233#.Tw98ltEz-AY.facebook

Catching up!
What up Blog! It's been a while since I've wrote on here! In the end of the season I managed to recover from my concussion thankfully and shred it up at a few more races! The end of the season was awesome! I was able to finish off with 2 back too back wins in Silver Mountain Montana in an All Gravity Series race in junior expert!
For the 2012 race season I have been given the opportunity to ride for my local shop, Favorit Cycles ( Check them out on facebook! http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1324541538&sk=info#!/pages/Favorit-Cycles/113994388715884 ) I will be representing Favorit on the new Transition tr 450 which im super stoked to ride this year! I've seen the tr 250 in action and it rides unreal, so I'm pumped to see the 450 in action! One things for sure, its going to be a sick season riding on such a rad bike for such a rad shop!

Fernie weekend
Back at full strength! Rode Thursday and Friday at Fernie Ski hill. It was super good. The head is feeling normal, Bike is amazing as always and the hill was in decent condition! There was a bit of snow on the top of the timber chair lift, made the ride pretty interesting at times! I was super surprised how comfortable riding with a mouth guard is, you hardly even notice it. If I knew that earlier I definitely would have had one! Really excited on getting my new leatt neck brace also. It should be hare next Wednesday. Anything you can do to keep you in the game! Safety first kids!

Fernie!
Heyyy everyone! I've been off my bike for 10 days now trying to rest up the dome. Feeling a lot better! Tomorrow I'm going to the Fernie ski hill to ride for the day. Going to take it fairly easy, I hope, and see how I feel. If everything feels solid and isn't spinning I'm planning on riding Friday also! Going to be a super fun time, getting ready for the upcoming Panorama and Golden races!

Recovery
Hey. Its day 6 after banging my head. Still trying to rest it up, don't want to go back to soon and hit it again. Pretty bummed that I couldn't go ride Fernie Skihill opening weekend but better to wait till next weekend. I just bought a mouthguard to try to reduce the chances of concussions in the future. What do I have to loose!
Pretty stoked, my friends dad found a picture of me in the July Decline Megasine racing the Double Down Hoe Down in spokane! Pretty excited about that. Also my super sick friend Jason from Sidekick Stickers made me some custom Volard stickers with a Canada flag for my bike. Looks super good! I dont have a picture right now but I will have one up shortly.

Bear Mountain Weekend.
Hey guys. Just got back from the coast this afternoon. Really pumped on the trip. It was super sick! We got in to mission on Friday. With the help of Debby (our GPS) we found the venue. The Dunns and I did a walk up the trail doing a some line choice and inspection. The course was in way to good of condition to not ride, so we did a hike a bike to get a feel for things. Couldn't have asked for better conditions!
Saturday mud.
Saturday morning we woke up to the sound of a down poor to say the least. Wasn't to cold, but damn was it wet out there! We got on one of the first shuttles, to fine anywhere from 2 to 6 inches of coastal poop mud. Once the worry of trying to stay dry and clean was soon out of the way, it was some of the funnest riding of my life! It was the first test of the Demo in mud like this and man was I impressed! The thing hooked up like it was on rails! The day way way to rad!
Me Alex and Nik, our faces tell it all!
Race day came around and I was feeling pretty confident. We got there and did one practise run to warm up. In between the end of practice and my start time it pored rain adding to the mud even more! The trace was in the worse possible condition by the time of race run but it was go time. I drooped in, hit all of my lines on the rocky steep part of the coarse. Once I got in to the jump section it was really hard to get speed through this muck. On the longest gap of the course, I wasn't able to get enough speed to clear the gap I was able to clear 2 hours earlier. In result of this I ended up being ejected OTB, through the air to the rock landing. I smacked my head pretty hard and hit my arms good. I draged myself off the trail, and puked. It made me really mad not to be able to finish the race. But that's racing! The first aid came down and gave me the hole trail side treatment for about half an hour. Turns out i have a minor concussion. No worries, I'm resting it off and will be on the bike in no time!
